The perfect restaurant steak at home

Call it laziness, call it frugalness but I wasn’t up to going out and fighting the crowds for a Valentine’s Day supper.

I’ve pawned all my kids off on family members, and I didn’t want to waste a night alone with my sweetheart at a restarant.

BUT

I wanted a good steak and some crab legs.  What’s a girl to do but cook them herself?

Now I am not a great cook (yet) but laziness/frugalness was spurring me on.   I bought some frozen crab legs, and steamed them (easy peasy)  and did the steaks in the skillet.

I don’t mean to brag.. but WOW they were the best steaks I ever made, and mine looked every bit as good as that one.  I wish I would have thought to take a picture, but the drooling was controlling my brain.

  1. Wow, that looks good! Funny that surf & turf was the theme last night – we had lobster tails and filet mignon ourselves :) (At home, of course, courtesy of a hot sale Friday evening at Ralphs.)
