Happier spending less..

I had just made the comment to DH last week that a shiny red KitchenAid mixer was needed for my kitchen. I am doing a LOT of cooking from scratch and a stand mixer would be a big help. Then I realized I have a MUCH prettier version already in my kitchen:
She is making Italian meringue – and she’s perfectly happy to stand there and hold the mixer for me the whole time. (in exchange for licking the bowl/beaters – which is why I do Italian meringue)
I think I’ll just keep this one as long as she’s willing 
On a related note – notice the walls (or lack thereof) behind her. We are committed to not borrowing money for this cabin. Eventually that will be a log wall – but I expect that will be quite some time in coming. I had DH nail me some boards in between the studs to hold my spices and such and OH. MY. GOODNESS. I love it. It is so convenient to have everything right there and visible in my baking corner. I told DH that when we do the kitchen – I need him to incorporate that idea into it somehow. If particle board was just a little prettier I’d be a happy girl
— Actually stay tuned.. I have an idea brewing regarding my lack o’wall coverings that DH is almost on board with.
